Colby Davis of Boston was founded by mother-daughter team, Lia Davis Lombara along with her two daughters, Lexi Colby, and Taylor Davis Lombara.
Lia Davis Lombara is a small business owner with a Fine Arts degree from Boston College and a jewelry minor from the Tuft’s Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Lia has devoted much of her career as a jewelry designer to her passion for glass enamel craftsmanship. Once a specialized visual art in the early 1900s dedicated to fine art pieces and enamored by the likes of the rich and famous, glass enamel art has since been replaced with accelerated and inexpensive enamel produced overseas. Today, Lia is bringing back this glass artistry through the reimagination of glass enamel with fine sterling silver, 18 karat, and gold vermeil jewelry made in the United States.
Following a family trip to Greece in the summer of 2014, Lexi and Taylor decided to join their mother to design a jewelry collection that was sophisticated yet fun, as well as meaningful and one of a kind. The mother-daughter team spent most of the trip inspired by their time spent together in the islands of Greece, shared passion for jewelry, and love for travel. With this new found invigoration to create, Lia designed the Compass Rose pendant and collaborated with Lexi and Taylor to write the meaningful saying on the reverse, "Life brings us to unexpected places, love brings us home." Today this design remains the most beloved, timeless, and tried and true collection of Colby Davis.
With the brand being 10 years older now, Lexi and Taylor both have their respective roles in the boutique family business but are still most passionate about helping their mother write meaningful messages for the back of each pendant. The jewelry collection has evolved to include the signature Colby Davis glass enamel pendants as well as charm bracelets, custom necklaces, rings, and beautiful lifestyle pieces inspired by their home in New England.

Most recently, the mother-daughter team opened the doors to their flagship store on Newbury Street in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood and received the award of one of Boston's top jewelers.
